Dresses That Keep Indian Tradition Alive

The Godfather of India Mahatma Gandhi said once about India, “A nation’s culture resides in the hearts and in the soul of its people.”

Well said, but we would now add another line to it and describe it as “A nation’s culture resides in the hearts and in the soul of its people and shows by the clothes they are wearing.”

We all know India is a land of diversity and various cultures & traditions. So are the dress traditions. Where in one part of India woman wear suits, sarees and lehengas…in the other part they like to wear western outfits more. When one tradition is making traditional stuff like: chikankari, bandhej etc., the other modern tradition is adding potential to them by combining some technology with it and making a fusion.

We at The Citrine, go with the other option ‘Fusion‘. We believe in ancient tradition and aim to present it to the world. We make clothes with western styles and cuts but add traditional hand-embellishment to make them adorable to the wearer.
